come and go but all fashion is cyclical; a very famous couturier once
stated that same thought in a much more elegant method. But it’s a fact.
Fashion is really as simple as simple trends that come and go. A few may
be popular and they stick around for some time but a few come and go
away just as fast like bell bottom sleeves and jeans!
 One of the trends that seem to be sticking around is that of the Emo
style trend that is picking up in popularity over the last few years.
For those people who are not really familiar with Emo style, think of
this article as a short guide to what you can find in Emo styles for men
and women. Please be warned Emo style is a young trend that is followed
by mainly young adults and teens and it does not seem to be really that
good looking on adults. You should also have a little knowledge of Emo
music which is the main influence of Emo style. A few guidelines for
aping the Emo trend and style is as follows
- Emo has its own styling and clothing styles. It can be a little
difficult to follow as the trend varies from person to person. It’s
very possible for a person to overdo and go horribly wrong as well.
There is a specific style, clothing trends and hair styling that is
required that Emo girls and Emo boys if they follow the trend.

a fan of Emo music. Most people who ape the style are also fans of
the music. A few of the bands that have the style and established it
are bands like Green Day, Rancid, Strife, Hatebreed etc. When you
look at the band members, you get an immediate idea of what Emo
fashions are supposed to be like. Wear shirts with band names on
them to be clued onto the Emo style. Please remember that you have
to know something about the band you are promoting through your
shirt.
- Emo style band members have people who wear a lot of black. But
they also combine it with a lot of bright and colorful accessories.
If you are wearing black tee and a black jeans set, then Emo style
is to wear a set of matching or contrasting accessories made in
silver or red with punk rock tennis shoes that make a great combo.
- Try to get matching hoodies that do really well in a Emo style.
for example, try wearing a band shirt, covered up with a hoodies,
and worn with a stripy long scarf to get the Emo style look bang on.
- Jeans are a must-have here but they should be well fitted and
cut. Designer labels are a no-no but getting one designer label in
is fine provided it’s well cut and fitted to your body. Tatty jeans
and shirts are a no-no for the style and try to avoid any logo on
your shirt or hoodies that is related to designer labels.
- Shoes are really cool as flats are absolutely fine for girls
with the Emo style look and for boys, the typical flat topped
sneakers with lacing is Emo style played bang on. High heels are not
required but a few outfits may need high heels to carry off the
look.
Layering accessories like multiple bangles, earrings, and heavy
makeup are really great for establishing the Emo style. You can also get
contrasting bangles, metal accessories and even large totes and
backpacks to look great with the Emo style.
